          This paper will be four- five pages in length and it will contain footnotes referring to primary and secondary sources as well as to the charts and maps you created in doing this research.  A Reference page will be included.     Use the The Modern Language Association (MLA) Style in preparing this paper.

      Introduction: This section Includes:
       

      • The research question.
      • Give some background  on Black migration from the South so that the reader has a context in which to place the study.
      • End with  as statement of  your findings.
       

      Resources and Methodology : This section includes a  discussion of :

       

      • The secondary resources used in establishing the national pattern of immigration of Blacks to Kansas in the years after the Civil War
      • The reliability of  these resources.
      • How these sources provide a context for the specific research question on Black immigration into Delaware Township, Kansas?
        •  
      Discuss the Kansas Census used to determine numbers of residents and immigration patterns.
           
        • What  specific areas of the census were  looked at?  Why?
        • What are some of the questions of validity and reliability raised by using this data?
        • What other primary sources might have helped in this research?
       
       

      Conclusions : This section includes a discussion of:
       

      • How the data gathered supports, does not support, or gives an incomplete answer to the research question. Include an analysis of the numbers you generated in your study.
      • What conclusion can be draw from a comparison of the percentage of Blacks who immigrated to Delaware Township in 1875 to the percentage of Blacks who immigrated to Delaware Township in 1885?

      • Possible future directions of study relating to this research?
