              PART V:   WRITING THE REPORT
               
         


      This paper will be four to five pages in length and contain footnotes referring to primary and secondary sources as well as to the charts and maps you created in doing this research.  A reference page will be included.     Follow  the The Modern Language Association (MLA) Style in preparing this paper.
       

       

      Introduction: This section includes:
       

      • The research question
      • The definition of an Underground Railroad?
      • Characteristics of an Underground Railroad site
      • A position on whether or not Quindaro is historically significant enough to justify funding it as a spot on the National Park Underground Railroad trail.
       

      Literature Review:  This section includes a discussion of:
       

      • The resources used in establishing the role of Underground Railroads and of the role of Quindaro as an Underground Railroad site
      • Why these resources were appropriate
      • Questions that need to be answered about the validity of these sources
      • Would another method have been used that could have improved this research?

       Conclusions: This section includes:
       
      • A discussion of how the resources support, do not support, or give an incomplete answer to the research question.
      • A  narrative tracing the town of Quindaro and linking events in its history to the issue of slavery.
      •  what other conclusions might be drawn from the results of this study.
      • A  discussion of possible future directions of study relating to this research.
